Black Magic as a group has also supported fundraising efforts by the Canadian Angus Association, the Alberta, BC & Ontario Angus Associations & the Southern Alberta Angus Club.
We also regularly support the Canadian and Alberta Angus Associations, Canadian Juniors & many fairs & exhibitions on an individual basis - both with funds and by volunteering.
In 2004 the Black Magic Sale Group began sponsoring the Alberta Junior Angus Association by contributing funds towards the Alberta Junior Show. In 2005 Black Magic became the major sponsor of the event.
That year we came up with a plan to contribute top quality donation heifers to the Alberta Junior Association with the stipulation that they market these heifers themselves - how they did it was up to them. The idea was that this would provide a valuable learning experience in marketing. In return, member of the AJAA were invited to participate in the Black Magic "Apprenticeship Program" and help at our sale, thus gaining work experience.
This endeavor has been a tremendous success. A total of 6 heifers have been donated to date, with almost $30,000 raised for our Juniors to date.
